Energy Performance Certificates
We can carry out a home survey in order to produce and Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) that can be used for:
~ Selling a house
~ Ensuring that a landlord rental a property complies with the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards.(MEES)
~Applying for the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)
Home Energy Efficiency
& Retrofit Assessments
We can carry out whole house energy reviews - leading to an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) Retrofit Assessments leading onto Retrofit Co-ordination. Peter Bates is a Founder member of The Retrofit Academy and a qualified Retrofit Co-ordinator.
Green Homes Grant
Below is a short video produced by the Retrofit Academy that introduces the Green Homes Grant
Under the Green Homes Grant – the government will provide a voucher worth up to £5000 to help cover two-thirds of the cost of making energy efficient improvements to your home. If you are on benefits you could receive up to £10,000. But, currently this will need to be used by the 31 March 2021. However, more money is likely to be available in the future.
In order to ensure quality of work, every installer will need to be registered with Trustmark – the government-backed scheme for quality assurance, or be a registered MCS (Microgeneration scheme) installer. So, if you get a “cold call”, ask for their registration number first.
For more details go to the Government web site or the Government endorsed Simple Energy Advice web site.
Please note this scheme only appears to domestic properties in England. Homeowners and Landlords can apply for the Grant. If you live in a traditional property pre 1930, is in a conservation area or a listed building it is best to get advice from a Retrofit Advisor, who can do an Assessment and a Retrofit Coordinator who can mange the Project according to the PAS 2035 delivery framework. If you live within Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and the surrounding areas do contact Peter Bates her@pjb.co.uk or telephone 01353667973.

Previous Projects
Ensuring Quality throughout the Customer Journey
We are developing a "model" that will ensure that quality of service is maintained throughout the customer journey from initial assessment and advice, through installation to aftercare service and follow up. This will draw upon best practice and will result in a number of "toolkits" that can be used to monitor quality of service.
Reducing
Fuel Poverty
We are working to find ways of reducing Fuel Poverty - which is a complex problem affecting a broad cross section of people – from low income working households to pensioners.
Smart Home
Energy monitoring
Utilising smart home energy monitoring solutions raises awareness amongst households of how much energy and what household devices are using energy. We are looking into these solutions.
Battery Storage in the Home
We are looking at developments for battery storage in the home, that could be used to store surplus electricity produced from solar PV..
New ways of Financing Energy Efficiency
We are trying to stimulate new and innovative ways of financing energy efficiency improvements.
